seminar preparations

Happenstance and I met at Charles & de for a 2 hour preparation breakfast meeting before the Forskningsdagene (national research days) -seminar Omkamp - nye nordiske stemmer i litteraturen yesterday at UoS. You may read more about the programme here. We had a most inspiring and motivating discussion, and I think we're on to something that will materialize way beyond yesterday's successful discussions!

aesthetic qualities at numerous levels

reflective descent

sufficient space for structural reflection

getting settled

last ascent

getting there

going up

The leaves are getting reddish-orange-yellow.
The weather is perfect.
Not a cloud in the sky.

Having worked 29 hours Monday and Tuesday (without counting this weekend...)
I now bring my Moleskine and Bakhtin to the top of Dalsnuten
to read and reflect about the paper I'm writing for Växjö on
"the ideology of form in Sara Stridsberg's
Drömfakulteten"
& also the structure of my thesis dragging me in directions I couldn't have foreseen & simply love...

See you at the top!

Tuesday, September 23

i have no idea whatsoever -

- what has stopped me from listening long, carefully, intensively, tremendously to Radiohead's Pablo Honey with for instance "Creep" and "You" before.

Monday, September 22

radiohead: creep

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so fucking special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

She's running out the door
She's running
She run, run, run, run
Run

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here

Radiohead, Pablo Honey

summer won't let go

- and I love every second of it... Another fabulous Sunday spent mostly outdoor thinking, noting and reflecting & furthermore reasoning pro and contra whether to write something about Lilian Munk Rösing's Kønnets Katekismus (2005) that I really like and that a lot of people apparently find truly problematic and that I reread for our study circle last Wednesday! Here's Dag Heede critizising it, and here's Munk Rösing answering Heede.

I spent most of the day structuring the text in my head, so I guess I should just get it down & done although I have other things to do (maybe exactly *so* I can get other things done...)!

the ting tings: we walk

We Walk
You never alter
You’re always you
Everything’s breaking
But I don’t care
Smash the rest up
Burn it down
Put us in the corner ‘cus we’re into ideas

Take these edges
They’re inside out
No one will notice
They’re looking elsewhere
We can’t be honest
We call it off
We got the choice if it all goes wrong

We walk, we walk
We walk, we walk

You see the changes
In things that come
It’s how you deal with it
When switching off
Make a decision
A precondition
We got the choice if it all goes wrong

We walk, we walk
We walk, we walk

When nothing makes you feel good
Then nothing makes you feel good
